Little Bee

Little Bee by Chris Cleave. Little Bee is a Nigerian
refugee who has made her way to England and miraculously
to the home of a woman she met in Nigeria. After being a
stowaway on a cargo ship and spending 18 months in a
refugee detainment center she was finally released and
made her way to the London home of Sara Summers walking
all the way there. Sara is a magazine publisher and recent
widow who feels compelled to help Bee even though she
seemingly has nothing in common with her. Published by
Simon and Schuster in 2008 Little Bee is Cleves second
novel. Little Bee is a New York Times bestseller with over
2 million copies sold. His first was Incendiary which won
the 2006 Somerset Maugham Award was shortlisted for the
Commonwealth Writers Prize and became a feature film.
Cleve was born in London grew up in Cameroon and was
educated at Balliol College Oxford.
