the ferocity of which the tiger eats. Pi is a religious
boy embracing not only his native Hinduism but also
Christianity and Islam. When forced to choose which one he
would like to follow exclusively he cannot choose as he
loves them all equally. When Pi is sixteen his father
decides to sell some of the animals and move to Canadaso
he his family and the remaining animals board a Japanese
cargo ship bound for North America. The ship sinks
mysteriously and leaves Pi remaining on a lifeboat with a
tiger a wounded zebra a hyena and an orangutan. He has to
watch the Hyena attack and eat the zebra and ultimately
ends up with just him and the tiger left to struggle to
stay alive until they can reach land. התקציר נכתב על ידי :

The author spends a great deal of time describing in detail the 227 days Pi spends on the lifeboat keeping him and the tiger alive. I found I had to push myself to read this book and was thinking to my self; enough already with life aboard a lifeboat, when are they going to be saved or find land already. I had mixed feelings about recomending this book, what kept me going was the claim by a reviewer that if you don't believe in God, you will after reading this book. I can't say that my feelings have been changed by it.
