Agnes Grey

Agnes Grey Anne Bronte. A classical novel which was first
published in 1847 is Brontes debut. This novel is
suggested to be based on Brontes real-life experience.
Agnes is a young woman who had a modest upbringing until
the family ran into significant debt. Now the family is
doing everything they can to keep their heads above water.
Agnes is adamant about earning her living as a governess.
First she works for the Bloomfield family which is wealthy
but cruel beyond her expectation. Anne is blamed for the
childrens misconduct but she does not have real authority
and is dismissed due to the childrens slow pace of
learning. Her misfortune as a governess continues but
there are seeds of hope. Will Agnes and her family find
their slice of happiness? The novel invited 1847 readers
to dwell on the oppression of young women animals and
